    Petroleum Levy Collections Hit Rs2.2 Trillion by FY2030

    Pakistan petroleum levy revenues are set to rise sharply over the coming years as part of the country fiscal consolidation efforts under the International Monetary Fund (IMF) program and According to estimates cited in an IMF report the federal government has project the Petroleum Levy Collections Hit Rs2.2 Trillion by FY2030 and the petroleum levy collection of Rupees 1468 billion for the ongoing fiscal year 2025 to 2026 with annual receipt that are expected to climb to Rupees 2212 billion by FY2030.

    Strong Collections in FY2025-26

    Out of the total projected Rupees 1468 billion for the current fiscal year the government has already collected more than Rupees 650 billion during the first five and a half months and this strong early performance indicates steady inflow of petroleum levy revenues and reflect higher consumption level and sustained levy rates on petroleum products.

    Rising Targets for Coming Year

    The IMF estimate shows a clear upward trend in petroleum levy collection over the medium term. For the next fiscal year FY2026-27 the government has set a higher collection target of Rupees 1638 billion underlining its commitment to strengthen revenue generation.

    Medium-Term Revenue Projections

    According to the projections:

    • Petroleum levy revenues are expected to reach Rs1,787 billion in FY2027-28
    • Collections are projected to rise further to Rs1,989 billion in FY2028-29
    • By FY2029-30 annual petroleum levy receipt are estimate to surge to Rupees 2212 billion

    These figures highlight consistent annual increase in levy income over the next four years.
